These House / Hostel Rules must be followed by all the Guest staying in any property operated by BYOC Hospitality Private Limited (“BYOC Hostels” or “Hostel”). Any breach or violation of these Rules the Hostel reserves the right, after the allegations have been investigated, to take action against the guest including right to terminate the Guest’s Admission. These rules may be updated from time to time by BYOC Hostels at its sole discretion.
Care of the Building, Common Areas and Rooms
1. Vandalism is a serious offence. Vandalism means and includes any and all acts of destruction, damage, and/or defacement of any asset or property owned by BYOC Hostels. The Guest/(s) found guilty of committing such an offence can be evicted from the property and be required to pay all costs incurred by BYOC Hostels due to such damage or destruction.
2. Any items of common use (e.g. microwave, iron, kettle, induction top, magazines, crockery, common TV units, etc) provided by the Hostel as part of the amenities package, shall be used only in the common areas and not in individual rooms.
3. No furniture or furnishings in the common areas of the Hostel may be moved by the Guest at any point of time.
4. Any damage to the property must be reported by the Guest immediately to their respective property manager. The Guest will be liable to pay for the expenses or costs arising from use/misuse of the same by the guest, except for damages caused by normal wear and tear.
5. The Guest must keep the keys of their lockers safely with them. In case of loss of keys, guest will have to bear the cost of replacement of keys/locks.
Intoxication, Betting and Gambling
1. BYOC Hostels are strictly opposed to possession, distribution and consumption of illegal substances inside the Hostel. If any instance of such action is brought to the notice of Hostel’s staff, they have the right to terminate the Guest Reservation and inform the appropriate authorities, accordingly.
2. Betting and Gambling by any means is strictly prohibited in the Hostel. In case of any such instance, the Hostel Management has the right to immediately terminate the Guest Reservation and inform the appropriate authorities.
Conduct & Behaviour
1. Any guest or a group of Guest, who wish to invite Non-Resident guests, must take prior written permission of the Hostel’s management and it will be the responsibility of the Guest to ensure the decorum of the Hostel is maintained at all times.
2. BYOC Hostels treats all its employees and service providers including housekeeping, security personnel and food vendors with dignity and respect. It is expected that the Guest also uphold this principle in their dealings with all the Hostels employees, representatives and service providers.
3. Making loud noises, including playing music between 10 PM to 8.00 AM is strictly prohibited.
4. The Guest should not behave in any manner which is deemed to be offensive by the neighbours or by the society either in the premises or in the neighbouring areas surrounding the premises.
5. The guest shall cooperate with the Hostel’s representative for getting his/her police verification, FRRO compliance and any other statutory compliance, as required by BYOC Hostels, done timely.
Kitchen Rules
1. Cooking of food in any area except in the Kitchen is strictly prohibited.
2. Personal food items can be stored in common refrigerators. The Guest should adequately label their food items. BYOC Hostels will not be liable for consumption of personal food items by the other Guest.
3. The Guest should ensure that the kitchen area is clean after their use. All the dirty dishes should be cleaned by the guest, and any leftover and/or garbage must be thrown in the appropriate dustbins. The Guest will be liable for damage to common utensils.
4. If food is ordered from outside by the Guest, then all leftovers and packaging materials should be disposed of in appropriate dustbins.
Food & Beverage Services
1. All Guest are encouraged to consume all food items only in the common area. Taking the common cutlery and utensils provided by the Hostel to the room (including plates, spoons, bowls and glasses) is strictly prohibited.
2. It is also guest’s responsibility to ensure that any leftovers are disposed of in appropriate dustbins.
3. Cooking or reheating of food inside the room is strictly prohibited under all circumstances.
Water Consumption
1. Water should be used judiciously. The Guest should report any water leakages to the Hostel Manager or other representatives as soon as the same is noticed.
Security & Safety
1. BYOC Hostels has the right to share the entry-exit or leave data with the appropriate authorities, if required under any law.
2. BYOC Hostels will not be responsible for the loss of any personal belongings of the Guest. The Guests are strongly advised to keep secure and lock all their valuables e.g. mobile phones, laptop, watches, money etc. at all times. While leaving the dorm/common area, it is the responsibility of the guest to ensure all their belongings are securely stored and locked in their lockers. BYOC Hostels would not entertain any claims for the loss/damage of any loose or unsecured belongings of the guest.
3. Building repairs and maintenance is a continuous and planned affair and the Hostel reserves the right to open and enter any room while the guest is not available to carry out such maintenance work. The same would be carried out in presence of the Security / Hostel’s representatives.
4. Possession, distribution and use of firearms, lethal weapons (including air guns), illegal substances and hazardous material are strictly prohibited in the Hostel. We reserve the right to search bags of the Guest as well as their visitors at any time and confiscate any prohibited substances that may be found in their luggage or in their possession. In case of any emergency, please contact the Hostel Management or Hostel’s phone number.
5. Tampering with any security or fire-fighting equipment is strictly prohibited. The guest responsible for such actions will be held responsible for the cost of restoring the damaged equipment.
6. In case of any emergencies in the building, all the Guest should be patient and cooperate with the Hostel’s representatives.
7. BYOC Hostels reserves its right to handover its property to the Government Authorities in case there is any notice/order/directions from the District Administration or State Government to acquire its property during an emergency. The dorms/bed occupied by the Guest may be vacated and their belongings may be shifted in their absence for any necessary compliance of such Government Order.
8. BYOC Hostels reserves the right to update or revise the safety and security Rules at any time at its sole discretion.
Housekeeping
1. Regular Housekeeping is an important aspect to ensure cleanliness and hygiene is always maintained in the Hostel. To ensure the same, cleaning of the dorms may be carried out in the absence of Guest as well, so the Guest are advised not to leave their valuables open and unsecured in their room. The Guest must ensure their valuables are always safely placed in lockers.
2. Please note, the services of the housekeeping staff can’t be utilized for any personal work. For example: no utensils will be washed by the housekeeping staff.
3. The Guests are expected to cooperate in the periodic pest control / fumigation / preventive maintenance activity.
4. Littering the room and common spaces is strictly prohibited.
Internet
1. Bandwidth speed will depend on the service provider and the Hostel location. Speed will be limited per user and may be changed as per the Company’s policy.
2. Devices per user: Hostels may have a restriction on the maximum number of devices per user. One user can access the internet on limited devices at a time (limit of devices may vary Hostel to Hostel).
3. BYOC Hostels is committed to offer a fair internet experience to everyone for which BYOC Hostels may continuously monitor internet usage by the Guest. A Fair Use Policy to ensures that every guest uses data in moderation with respect to the fellow Guest (given in Gigabytes (GB) of data) will apply on all internet services.
4. Browsing access/restrictions: The Guest are not allowed to:
- Access pornography
- Create and maintain fake accounts
- Download and view pirated content
- Faking IP
- Piggybacking: Using someone else’s credentials
Usage of Electrical Appliances
1. Usage of appliances like heaters, coils, iron boxes or any other heating/cooking electrical gadget is strictly prohibited inside the dorms.
2. Guest found cooking inside a room using electric cookers, coffee makers, roti makers, heaters or any combustible material, will be considered a serious violation leading to a penalty.
3. While leaving the dorm or common area premises, Guest must ensure that they switch off all lights, fans, electrical appliances including ACs, heaters, geysers, mosquito-repellent machines etc.
4. The right containers /bowls should be placed inside a microwave to avoid a hazardous situation. In case of doubt, please connect with the Hostel representatives for assistance.
5. Guest should refrain from overloading the washing machines, ensuring that clothes are unloaded immediately after usage. In case clothes are found lying unclaimed, the Hostel staff will not be held responsible if misplaced.
6. Guest should avoid stocking up the fridge unnecessarily. The housekeeping staff reserve the right to get rid of any leftovers found in the refrigerator.
Health
1. The Guest shall intimate the Hostel’s Representatives immediately if any critical or transferable illness is detected to prevent other Guest from getting infected.
2. The Guest shall not consume any medication inside the premises, except which is prescribed by a registered medical practitioner.
Photography & Filming
1. Photography and filming shall be allowed but the Guest shall maintain the privacy of other Guests.
2. The common areas in Hostels are under CCTV surveillance for safety and security of the Guest. The Guests are advised to maintain decorum in common areas and not to obstruct / change the view of CCTV by any means.
Visitors & Guests
1. Non-resident guests are not allowed inside the Hostel Property.
2. The guest will be wholly responsible and financially liable for all actions of the guest's visitor and guests.
Payments
1. Advance taken at the time of reservations is strictly non-refundable.
2. 100% advance payment is mandatory at the property during Check-In.
3. The guest shall pay all fees and charges timely and, in the manner, prescribed by the Hostel.
4. In case of any default of payments, the Hostel reserves the right for immediate termination of Guest Reservation and evicting the defaulter guest.
5. The Guest may not be allowed to go outside the property or refuse to leave the property with their belongings in case of pending payments until the same gets resolved and all the dues are cleared.
Complaints and Suggestions
1. BYOC Hostels team will conduct feedback sessions on a regular basis. All the Guests are asked to participate in the sessions actively so as to ensure the best delivery of services. From our perspective, any complaints, suggestions or enquiries are always welcome.
2. The Guest should only submit genuine complaints.
3. Defaming (Oral or written communication of a false statement about another that unjustly harms their reputation and usually constitutes a tort or crime) any person including fellow Guests and BYOC Hostels staff or influencing fellow Guests for defaming any person or BYOC Hostels by any means (i.e. directly, indirectly or on social media) is strictly prohibited. This may attract serious consequences including termination of the Guest Reservation and further legal action.
Penalties / Fines / Actions
1. Drinking Alcohol in the property: Immediate Eviction from the property without any refund
2. Smoking in the property, except designated smoking zone: Rs. 2,000 per instance or Immediate Eviction from the property without any refund
3. Entering any other dorm, except the one in which bed is allotted to the guest: Rs. 2,000 per instance or Immediate Eviction from the property without any refund
4. Bringing outsiders visitor without consent of Hostel Management: Rs. 2,000 per instance or Immediate Eviction from the property without any refund
5. Obstructing or changing view of CCTV cameras: Rs. 2,000 per instance and/or Immediate Eviction from the property without any refund
6. Taking food and common utensils to the dorm: Rs. 2,000 per instance
7. Lost Key of lockers: Rs. 500 per instance
8. Leaving Lights/Water taps open in absence: Rs. 2,000 per instance
9. Using non-mandated electrical appliances in the dorms: Rs. 2,000 per instance
10. Leaving A/C or Lights or Fans switched on when not in dorm: Rs. 2000 per instance
11. Geyser coil damage due to kept on for longer duration: Rs. 2000 per instance
General
1. No animals or pets will be brought inside the Hostel by any guest / person.
2. No political or religious gatherings will be permitted at the residence without the written consent of the Hostel’s management.
3. BYOC Hostels and its representatives reserve the right to make spot checks on the Hostel and dorms without having to give prior notice to the Guest.
4. BYOC Hostels will not be responsible for any packages / parcels received at the Hostel. Guests are requested to coordinate & collect their parcels as soon as it reaches the Hostel from the delivery executive.
5. Electricians, contractors or any other service person may enter dorms as and when necessary, in the course of their duty under the supervision of the Hostel representatives. BYOC Hostels representative shall ensure that all such activity is done in a manner which respects the privacy and dignity of the Guest.
6. BYOC Hostels Representatives reserve the right to move Guest to other dorms if there is a necessity or emergency.
7. BYOC Hostels team reserves the right to revise the rules and regulations from time to time and will keep the Guest informed of any changes in the form of notices/WhatsApp/Text messages. Ignorance of any such amendments to the rules will not be accepted as an excuse for any breach of rules and regulations.
8. BYOC Hostels provides a set of consumables for the entertainment/ games area including remote batteries, accessories for games/sports like darts, dice, cue sticks, rackets, bats, gaming consoles etc. The same shall be maintained by the Guest in good condition. Any loss or damage to the said consumables shall be borne by the guest responsible for such loss or damage.
